House for Positive Change began as a dream: to provide a transformative community and space where individuals could embark on their journey of personal growth and well-being. Driven by the desire to create our own positive impact on the world, we - Elianne van Waalwijk van Doorn and Mukesh Joshi - have consistently been working to pursue our vision.
Early 2020 amidst the challenges of quarantine, we founded House for Positive Change and opened a new home base in Voorschoten two years later. Over the following years, a sanctuary for self-awareness, inner peace, and recovery was established. Our desire is to grow together with our community into a movement for positive change, where a healthy body and mind of both the individual and community form the base of growth and understanding.
Our company aims to offer a sanctuary for anyone seeking inner balance, prosperity and happiness. We offer a diverse range of holistic services, including yoga, meditation, therapies, massage, Ayurvedic coaching, workshops and retreats. And, the latest shoot to our tree is the socio-cultural village project, situated in the Gharwal Himalayas of India.
At House for Positive Change, we believe that everyone is unique. So too are the programmes and experiences offered: prior to the start of a program, your individual needs and requirements are assessed through a personal consultation. From there you will be assisted in your journey into the understanding of the true concept of balancing your own wellbeing.
With a commitment to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment, House for Positive Change has become a haven for individuals seeking positive transformation, self-discovery and happiness. Our foundations are still very grounded to this vision. We collect inspriration and strength from our mantra.
"Live life. Time flies."

Elianne van Waalwijk van Doorn is the founder and guiding force behind House for Positive Change, a holistic wellness practice rooted in compassion, community, and ancient wisdom. After more than 20 years working as a senior communications advisor and spokesperson for humanitarian organizations like Cordaid and Giro555, Elianne shifted her focus from global crisis response to personal and community healing. Her professional journey through conflict zones and disaster areas taught her the value of human connection, empathy, and the power of presence.
In 2016, Elianne’s own path of healing began with yoga and Ayurveda. She has since trained extensively in Ashtanga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Ayurveda Yoga, and Trauma Sensitive Yoga. Certified as both an Ayurveda Practitioner and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Therapist, she now supports individuals dealing with stress, anxiety, burnout, hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, chronic illness, and trauma—always with a grounded, pragmatic approach.
At House for Positive Change, Elianne offers Ayurvedic consultations, yoga therapy, leech therapy, massage, and lifestyle coaching for physical, emotional, and mental well-being. She also facilitates workshops, school programs, and workplace wellness sessions, and brings her services to refugee camps and marginalized communities.
Together with Mukesh Joshi, Elianne co-leads transformational retreats in the Indian Himalayas—connecting people with nature, culture, and community. A portion of the proceeds supports local development through the Root and Rise Foundation, which she co-founded.
Elianne is a mother of four who finds joy in nature, music, culture, and daily rituals that bring peace and purpose to life.

Mukesh Joshi is a yoga teacher, retreat leader, and nature guide whose work is rooted in authenticity, strength, and joy. Born and raised in Rishikesh—India’s Yoga Capital—Mukesh grew up along the banks of the Ganges and in the remote villages of the Himalayas. Movement, adventure, and spiritual tradition have always been a part of his life. As a former mountain and whitewater guide, boxer, and gym enthusiast, his transition into yoga brought a deeper integration of body, mind, and soul.
At House for Positive Change, Mukesh offers Strengthbuilding Yoga—an energizing blend of joint-loosening Pavanamuktasana, flowing Hatha-inspired sequences, martial arts from Kalaripayattu, and mantra-infused motivation. His classes are both grounding and expansive, inviting students on an inward journey beyond the noise of the mind.
Mukesh also offers therapeutic Yoga Stretching Massage, a hands-on practice that supports deep relaxation, presence, and energetic release. With a gift for intuitive touch and body awareness, he helps clients restore strength and connect to the here and now.
His greatest passion lies in organizing and leading immersive retreats in nature, where he designs powerful journeys that awaken the body and nourish the spirit. Many of these experiences take place in the Indian Himalayas, often in collaboration with the Root and Rise Foundation, where he contributes to wellness, education, and community projects.
Mukesh is a father, an adventurer, and a great cook. Above all, he is dedicated to sharing joy and presence—meeting each person exactly where they are.
