The word Abhyangam means “massaging the body’s limbs": warm herbalized oils are applied with a purposeful touch to create balance in the body and mind and produce a multitude of beneficial effects. Regular practice of Abhyanga Massage promotes overall health and longevity.
Abhyangam Massage improves blood circulation, facilitates removal of toxins from the tissues, relieves mental and physical fatigue, improves the functions of the muscular-skeletal system, reduces stiffness and heaviness in the body. It assists the production of white blood corpuscles and antibodies, which provide more resistance against viruses and diseases.
This helps the defense mechanism in the body and increases immunity towards environmental changes. In this way Abhyangam Massage is a protector, preserver, and a rejuvenator, increasing self-confidence and will power, so it can be used therapeutically within a therapeutic plan or as an occasional treat. The massage can be deeply relaxing or energizing depending on the need, harmonizing, detoxifying, strengthening, and revitalizing for the entire body.
Our Abhyangam Massages may be performed by one or more therapists working in sync. The massage is often followed by Svedana (steam box) therapy or a warm bath.
Abhyanga is generally safe and deeply beneficial, but should be avoided in cases of fever, active infections, open wounds, recent surgery, severe pain, or serious cardiovascular conditions.

The addition of a steam bath enhances the detoxification process by opening up the pores and promoting deeper oil penetration into the skin. The steam bath can also complement the massage by further relaxing muscles and promoting overall well-being. Alternatively a steamed towel could be provided to finish the Abhyangam massage.
You will be provided with disposable undergarments or you can choose to you’re your own comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting oil on. Jewelry or accessories should be taken off during the session.
It's advisable to avoid heavy meals immediately before the session to allow for better digestion and comfort during the massage. After the session, it's beneficial to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and support the detoxification process.
