The YogArt Diwali Festival Retreat 2026 is a week-long, community-rooted journey created by House for Positive Change, in close collaboration with the Root and Rise Foundation and a Himalayan village community in Uttarakhand.
Your journey begins in quiet forest surroundings near Dehradun and leads deep into the Garhwal Himalayas, to the village of Musmola Khola. Here, days unfold slowly with sunrise yoga, shared meals, creative expression, and participation in village life. Yoga and the arts are explored not as performance, but as ways of listening, connecting, and belonging.
Diwali is celebrated as it is lived locally — through light, care, ritual, and community. Homes and pathways are prepared together, lamps are lit, stories are shared, and ceremonies are guided by village families. Arts are experienced in their broadest sense: movement, music, storytelling, craft, ritual, cooking, and presence.
This is not a retreat you consume. It is a living experience you step into.
Community is not a theme — it is the foundation.
Inclusive Community Contribution As part of your retreat participation, €150 is included in the retreat fee as a contribution to the Root & Rise Village Community Project. This amount is earmarked specifically for community development initiatives and is allocated directly to projects such as education, women’s wellbeing, and regenerative village spaces. Your participation supports long-term, locally led impact beyond the retreat experience.
To reserve your place on this retreat, you will need to complete the booking / registration form and send a bank transfer for € 900 per person as non-refundable trip deposit.
